Cloud quickstart

Get started with Synjar Cloud in 5 minutes. By the end of this guide, you'll have uploaded a document and asked your first AI-powered question.

Time required: 5 minutes Prerequisites: A web browser

Step 1: Create your account

  1. Go to app.synjar.com
  2. Click Sign up
  3. Enter your email and create a password
  4. Check your email for a verification link
  5. Click the link to verify your account
tip

After signing up, you have 15 minutes to explore before verification is required.

Step 2: Create your workspace

When you first log in, you'll be prompted to create a workspace:

  1. Enter a Workspace name (e.g., "My Knowledge Base")
  2. Click Create workspace

A workspace is your private knowledge base. You can create multiple workspaces for different projects or teams.

Step 3: Upload a document

  1. Click Documents in the sidebar
  2. Click Upload or drag a file onto the upload area
  3. Select a PDF, Word document, or text file

Supported formats: PDF, DOCX, TXT, MD

Processing takes 30-60 seconds for most files. You'll see a status indicator:

UploadingFile is being transferred
ProcessingAI is indexing the content
ReadyDocument is searchable

Step 4: Ask a question

Once your document shows Ready:

  1. Click Search in the sidebar
  2. Type a question about your document
  3. Press Enter

For example, if you uploaded a product manual, try asking:

  • "How do I reset the device?"
  • "What are the safety warnings?"
  • "Summarize the main features"

Step 5: Review the results

Synjar returns:

  • Relevant passages from your documents
  • Relevance scores showing how well each result matches
  • Source documents so you know where answers come from

Click any result to see the full context in the original document.

Q: How long does processing take? Most documents are ready within 1 minute. Large PDFs (>5MB) may take 2-3 minutes.

Q: Can I search across multiple documents? Yes! Search queries check all documents in your workspace by default.

Q: What happens to my data? Your documents are encrypted and stored securely. Only workspace members can access them. See our security overview for details.
